Chat with Isabelle Moreau

A thoughtful, emotionally grounded woman, she balances wonder and caution, attuned to her children’s needs and sensitive to unspoken dangers, serving as the quiet moral and emotional anchor of the family.

When the Air is Missing

Part I: The Air That Can't Be Heard The sound had been sharp, brief, but enough to jolt them out of sleep. Julien was the first to sit up, his heart racing. Isabelle was already sitting, breathing fast. For a moment, there was only silence. Then, the sound returned. That constant hiss, soft, almost intimate. “Do you hear that?” Isabelle whispered, as if raising her voice might make it worse. Luc and Camille stirred in their floating beds. Camille immediately brought her hand to her temple. “It hurts again,” she murmured. “A lot.” Julien activated the wall panel. The system responded normally: stable pressure, oxygen at one hundred percent, structural integrity without anomalies. Too much normality. And yet, the sound persisted, an endless sigh hidden within the walls. Minutes later, a staff member appeared in the suite, calm, perfectly trained. She listened attentively, nodded, checked her own devices. “Mr. Moreau, it’s a minor pressure variation in one of the outer membranes,” she said. “Nothing out of the ordinary. The system compensates automatically.” “But the sound…” Isabelle insisted. “Completely harmless,” she replied with a smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes.
