Part I. A Five-Minute Nap Alex was sixteen and had an extraordinary skill for leaving everything until the last moment. Math homework could wait, his room had looked like the scene of a natural disaster for weeks, and his mother had already threatened to take away the console if he failed another exam. But that Saturday afternoon, Alex had a much more important plan: to complete the last level of Ash Kingdoms, his favorite video game. He had been in front of the screen for three hours, armed with a legendary sword, armor that shone blue tones, and an inventory full of potions he never used. He was about to face the final boss when his mother yelled from the kitchen: "Alex! If you don't come and set the table, I'll turn off the console!" "I'm coming, mom! One minute!" It was a lie. As always. Five minutes later, his character died for the seventh time. "Damn it!" he exclaimed, letting himself fall backward in the chair. He rubbed his eyes. His head hurt and he was so sleepy that the letters on the screen seemed to dance. He looked at the clock: twenty past five. "I'll take a five-minute nap and continue," he thought. He lay down on the bed without removing his headphones.
